Tips for firm, clean slices
Press the oat mixture firmly and evenly into the pan so the bars hold together. If it still feels crumbly, add the extra maple syrup specified in the recipe, one tablespoon at a time.
Let the chocolate set fully before cutting. A warm, dry knife will pass through the topping more cleanly, with less cracking.
How to store the bars
Keep the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator so the chocolate stays firm. Separate stacked layers with baking paper to prevent them from sticking.
Can I make them gluten-free?
Yes. Choose rolled oats that are specifically labelled gluten-free if you need to avoid gluten.
