To a bowl, add egg and sugar. Whisk until sugar dissolves completely.
Then, add oil and mix well.
Add milk and mix well.
Sift in flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix until dry flour no longer visible. Set aside.
Butter an 8 inch (20 cm) non-stick pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Place apple on top of sugar. Pour batter over sliced apple. Place pan over LOWEST heat. Cover and cook for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
