Christmas Red Velvet Sugar Cookies
These Red Velvet Sugar Cookies are Soft and PERFECT for Christmas.Makes about 10-12 cookies depending on size of cookies.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/8 tsp (1 g) salt (a pinch)
- 1 tsp (5 ml) red food coloring gel (Americolor)
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cup (210 g) All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp (7 g) Cocoa Powder
Instructions
- Beat the room-temperature butter and sugar on medium speed until pale yellow and fluffy. Beat in the egg.
- Mix in the salt, red food-colouring gel and vanilla. Sift in the flour and cocoa and mix until the dough comes together.
- Transfer to a work surface and roll to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick. Cut into shapes and transfer to a parchment-lined baking tray.
- Bake on the middle rack of a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 12–15 minutes. Let cool completely before adding any optional icing decoration.
