Eggless Dairy-Free Donuts In Air Fryer
These Donuts are easy to make in the air fryer.
- 1 ½ tsp (4.5 g) Active Dry Yeast. If using instant yeast, add it directly to the dry ingredients (no activation needed).
- 1 cup (240 ml) Water (90-110oF; 32-43oC)
- 1/3 cup (65 g) Superfine (granulated) Sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Vanilla Extract
- 3 cups (420 g) All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 tsp (3 g) Salt
Donut Glaze
- 1 cup (130 g) Powdered (Icing) Sugar
- 3 Tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
To a bowl, add active dry yeast and water. Mix well and let stand for 5 minutes to active the yeast. Note: If instant yeast is used, skip this step and add the instant yeast to the dry ingredients. Add sugar, oil and vanilla extract to the bowl and whisk until sugar dissolves completely.
Add flour and salt. Mix until flour is no visible (dough is slightly sticky).
Cover and let dough rest for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, knead dough for 30 seconds to 1 minute.(Wet fingers if needed to prevent sticking). Then, cover and let it rest for 2 hours or until dough doubles in size (depends on your kitchen temperature).
After 2 hours, transfer dough to a floured surface.Roll out dough to about 1 cm (0.5 inch) thick. Dip cookie cutter, 6.5 cm (2.5 inch) diameter, in flour and cut out donuts and holes.Place them on a floured tray.Cover with a plastic film and let dough rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour. After 30 minutes to 1 hour, oil air fryer rack. Preheat air fryer 350oF (180oC) for 2 minutes.Then, place 4 donuts at a time on the rack. Air fry at 350oF (180oC) 3-4 min. For donut holes, air fry at 350oF (180oC) 2-3 min. Please adjust according to your air fryer. All air fryers are not the same. Let donuts and holes cool down on a wire rack.
In the meantime, prepare the donut glaze.To a bowl, add powdered sugar, water and vanilla extract. Mix well. Then, dip donuts and holes in the glaze and place on a wire rack.
